4092 Poplar Flat Panel Box Newel posts have a pedestal size of 7-1/2 inches and an overal length of 55 inches".  Hardwood wall is 3/4" with the main shank at 6". Custom sizes are available on a per job quote.   Poplar is the best choice for a paint grade newel with its tight grain and economical cost.  It can also be stained dark to match walnut, mahogany and Brazilian cherry hardwoods.
